Privacy Policy

This is the BIKE ME! web site (“the Site”).

Are you with us so far?

The policies below are applicable to BIKE ME! and other sites on the World Wide Web portion of the Internet owned and operated by BIKE ME!. They are not applicable to sites not owned or operated by BIKE ME!. They have their own policies, which they ignore. We would never do that.

BIKE ME! Privacy Policy

Your privacy on the Internet is important to us. Not as important as ending world hunger or saving the rainforest, but more important than funding the arts or fixing the leaky faucet in the back bathroom. As part of the operation of www.bikeme.tv, we gather certain types of information about BIKE ME! users, and we would like to explain the types of information we gather, what we do with it and how to correct or change the information.

This may take a while. Can we offer you a cold beverage?

Personal Data

Personal data is collected when users choose to provide personal data to BIKE ME!, for example in registering for electronic newsletters or other services, in answering surveys, and purchasing items from BIKE ME! We sometimes use this information to notify you regarding promotional offers or opportunities that may be of interest. Why anyone would knowingly sign up for junk mail is beyond us, but people do it all the time and we want a piece of that action.

We may also aggregate this information to enable us to improve our site and we may share aggregated information with third parties. Except as required by law, BIKE ME! will not share with a third party any personally identifying information. Even if it’s a really wild party and we’ve had a few too many.

Traffic Data

BIKE ME! collects basic information each time a person visits our site.

For example, BIKE ME! collects domain names, IP addresses and referral sites. BIKE ME! does not link domain names to anything personally identifiable, so although your session will be logged, you will remain anonymous to us. BIKE ME! collects and aggregates this information in order to improve the overall quality of our site.

This information can not help us improve the specific quality of individual pages. Sorry.

We may provide aggregate traffic data to third parties for both advertising and promotional purposes, but it will not include any personally identifying information.

Use of Cookies

BIKE ME! also uses “cookies” to collect information. A cookie is a small data file that most major web sites write to your hard drive for record keeping purposes when you visit them.

We like to think of ourselves as a major web site, so we will be using cookies too.

Cookies are used by BIKE ME! to measure activity on the Site and make improvements and updates based on which areas are popular and which are not. For example, if one of our employees writes something and nobody reads it, the cookies will tell us that and he or she will be fired. And it will be your fault.

BIKE ME! does not use cookies to retrieve information from your computer. Even though we just bet you’ve got some REALLY interesting stuff on it. Except for personal information voluntarily provided by you, BIKE ME! does not use information transferred through cookies for any promotional or marketing purposes, nor is that information shared with any third parties whatsoever.

You may occasionally get cookies from our advertisers, which is standard in the Internet industry. Which makes it okay. BIKE ME! does not control these cookies, and these cookies are not subject to BIKE ME! privacy policies.

Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. If you’d prefer, you can set yours to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Or you can turn off your computer and go outside. It’s a great day. We bet it’d be fun to go for a ride on a motorcycle.

Children and Privacy

BIKE ME! encourages parents and guardians to spend time with their children online, and to be fully familiar with the sites visited by their children. BIKE ME! believes that parents and guardians will be better parents and guardians if they take our advice. It is true that BIKE ME! has no children of its own, but we still think we know better than you do what is good for your children.

BIKE ME! reserves the right to change this policy at any time. Frankly, we’d pretty well drunk the place dry when we made this up, and we figure we might decide later that some of it isn’t a good idea. It’s just this nagging feeling we have.

We encourage users to periodically review our privacy policy for revisions and updates. That sounds like fun, doesn’t it? You can send e-mail to us with any further questions about our privacy policy at admin at bikeme.tv.

Think of us as pen pals who talk like lawyers and ride motorcycles. Except real pen pals would probably answer your email.
