NEW NOLAN OPEN-FACE LIDS
Behold the new Nolan open-faces.
Sure, you might wear them on your scooter and that’s fine, but I will be wearing them on motorcycles and looking impossibly finer. Well, I will if Ron Angel sends me one.
If you didn’t know, Nolan is made in Italy, and is considered by those who know these things, as a premier helmet-brand. I am one of those who knows about open-face helmets. It’s pretty much all I wear, and I have worn all the brands. I have not worn one of these, but I want to. Why?
This is why:
They come with a five-year warranty.
They have multi-Density EPS styrene liners, which provide optimum shock absorptionforce disbursement.
The liner is made from heroic microfibre material with anti-bacterial treatment for a longer-lasting fit and to prevent bacteria eating your head.
The visor is made from scratch-resistant Lexan, and the ‘Fighter Pilot’ goggle-style VPS visor retracts into the shell – and comes in tints if you want.
The neck-section provides a better fit and is meant to offer better anti-roll resistance in a crash and makes the lid quieter and better-fitting.
Enhanced neck roll provides a more enclosed fit for better anti-roll resistance in crash situations, and a quieter, more comfortable fit.
By all accounts, it appears to be a top-shelf bit of kit.
HOW MUCH?
Prices range from $199 for the plain black one, $239 for the Caribe colour-schemed ones, or $309 for the hella sexy scratched-chrome painted one.
