Waylon\u2019s got nothin\u2019 to say when that\u2019s happening.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Look at it. There are very few bikes on this earth that look exactly like an act of brute mechanical violence. There are even fewer that have the tech to back up those looks. That\u2019s what makes the MT-10 so very special. But let\u2019s not skin our dicks too hard in that regard. It\u2019s not like normal people can ride them, or the MT-10, anywhere near their incredible limits. As if 122kW and 112Nm pushing 214kg (wet) is something to be dismissive about.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But that does not matter, does it? It\u2019s not about that. Sin and Pleasure. And an unshakeable ability to deliver them both with fearsome purpose. And yes, that&#8217;s the R1 frame.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Until this latest iteration, the MT-10s have been a little feral. I don\u2019t say that like it\u2019s a bad thing. Not at all. There are times when a deranged engine-map can be utterly delightful. Hence the old A map for \u201cAnimal\u201d, the B map for \u201cBastard\u201d and the C map for \u201cCoping\u201d. You get a little bit more power, and a cleaner delivery of the legendary mid-range torque the bike is famous for. Steel conrods rather than the R1\u2019s titanium jobbies make it more road-friendly, and the fuel injection has been finger-banged to make the torque-delivery more lineal between 4000 and 8000rpm.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1496220\" style=\"width: 630px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1496220\" class=\"wp-image-1496220 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/FX5_0023.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/FX5_0023.jpg 620w, https:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/FX5_0023-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/FX5_0023-559x350.jpg 559w, https:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/FX5_0023-600x375.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1496220\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Its &#8220;face&#8221; has been changed a little. But it still looks like it wants to punch yours.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>Just remember to breathe when you slam the throttle open in third at 4500rpm. The acceleration is mind-numbing. And the noise\u2026oh, man, the noise this thing makes\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Yamaha has made three different intake ducts in its new air box. It looks how it has to look to get past Euro5 emission laws. Get another pipe. Make nice jewellery out of this one. <\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>Put band-aids on your nipples. The induction roar-growl is gonna cause some friction. The hair on the back of my neck dead-set stands up \u2013 and this is with a stock pipe! A man shoves some aftermarket cannon on the bastard and there will be tissues littering the roadside. Nothing sounds like an MT-10 on song.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The new suite of electronic rider aids and choice of insanity is superb. I\u2019m one of those set-and-forget blokes. I\u2019ll find a setting I like, and that\u2019s where it will live for ever. PWR-2 was where I left it. Totally manageable and pleasing, unlike PWR-1, which maybe Fabio Quartararo could fap to.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1496222\" style=\"width: 630px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1496222\" class=\"wp-image-1496222 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/FX5_0026.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/FX5_0026.jpg 620w, https:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/FX5_0026-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/FX5_0026-600x338.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1496222\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>A more comfy seat&#8230;but maybe not for her.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>There\u2019s a bunch of other stuff as well \u2013 slide control, lean-angle traction control, lift control, brake control, and a six-axis IMU (it measures angular velocity in three axes, and acceleration in three axes)\u2026hell, all it\u2019s missing is an Evade Police mode and a panty-dryer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is as sophisticated as motorcycle electronics get at the moment. You cannot see the many sub-screens also available. Nick yells at me when I make him take 23 photos of the screen. Go see your Yamaha dealer. he will show you all the screens.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>I understand the Gen-2 \u00d6hlins semi-active suspension on the SP iteration is amazing. But there\u2019s nothing lacking in the fully adjustable KYB units on the base MT-10. Always have.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>The new seat is better. Firmer and more cosseting, and thus enhancing the MT-10\u2019s already superb touring credentials. Or just let the &#8220;eyebrows&#8221; shine on their own.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>And it\u2019s a Yamaha, so it\u2019s carved from reliability and longevity \u2013 unlike maybe some of the pricier and more exotic Euro nakeds. I did.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>It now looks more \u201cdesigned\u201d than just thrown together by a sake-crazed madman like the early ones did. It exudes menace. It radiates potency. It wants to pull your hair and growl dark things into your ear. It wants to make you pant. It wants your mouth dry and your eyes wet and a little crazed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It wants what you want.
