Its also where Harley-Davidson Australia &amp; New Zealand debuted its one of a kind racer Pepper, a 2015 Harley-Davidson FLTRXS Road Glide Special.<\/p>\n<p>Pepper went onto write itself into the Australian Land speed record books by clocking 165.131mph (265.753 kph) on the salt flats. Claiming its own piece of history as Australia\u2019s first and fastest bagger in its class and the unofficial title of world\u2019s fastest, naturally aspirated bagger under 2000cc.<\/p>\n<p>Racing in the 2000cc Modified Partial Streamlined \u2013 Push Rod Gas (MPS-PG) class and piloted by modified bike drag racer, Corey Buttigieg, Pepper also came close to the world record for the 2000cc MPS-PG class, 171.962mph set on the flats of Bonneville, USA back in 1996.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12550\" alt=\"Pepper HD salt lake racer 2\" src=\"http:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Pepper-HD-salt-lake-racer-2.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Pepper-HD-salt-lake-racer-2.jpg 620w, https:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Pepper-HD-salt-lake-racer-2-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Pepper-HD-salt-lake-racer-2-525x350.jpg 525w, https:\/\/bikeme.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Pepper-HD-salt-lake-racer-2-600x399.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The result is the culmination of almost 12 months of design and engineering work for the team including Harley-Davidson Australia &amp; New Zealand Technical Lead, Dan Lesnock and Buttigieg. The pair has taken the Road Glide Special from a stock bike to a record holding racer with the addition of H-D Screamin\u2019 Eagle performance parts forming the basis of the engine and driveline modifications while the chassis was only slightly modified for racing.
